fFor The standard pickup used on Evoharps is a single coil magnetic element that lies below the strings under the chord bars. It is invisible unless the chord bars are removed and unless it is plugged in, it has no effect (except for adding about 4 ounces to the overall weight of the instrument). Connection is by means of a standard 1/4 inch phone jack, the same type of jack used with electric guitars. When connected to an amplifier or sound system, the loudness and tone of the sound are determined by the amplifier or sound system controls. The pickup will ignore background noise and responds only to vibration of the strings.
